We are able to offer existing and new clients audiovisual consultancy and calibration services for your current cinema room, or consultancy and later calibration on a new design. Our staff are trained and certified by the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) for video display calibration, the Home Acoustics Alliance (HAA) and THX for audio design and calibration.
An video calibration is something that can be easily done with an existing setup. The service takes approximately 4-6 hours depending on the level of configuration available with your hardware. Multi-point greyscale and primary and secondary colour management systems take the extra time. It would be advised to ensure that you are not going to make any further changes or upgrades to your system since the whole video chain is calibrated not just the display, a change of Blu-Ray player or even AV Receiver that processes video could make the system inaccurate again.
An audio calibration on a system with the appropriate tools such as parametric multi-band equaliser will usually take up a day. The calibrator will be able to setup the system to remove room effects from the sound as best is possible with the tools in the audio processor and the environment the system is in. A more comprehensive consultancy service will involve the calibrator visiting the site and making design recommendations before the room is complete such as suggesting appropriate furnishings, speaker and viewer positions within the room, wall, floor and ceiling surfaces and acoustic treatments that can be applied. The more we can correct the room with treatments and positioning the less digital manipulation of the audio that will be required. Obviously such significant changes to the room are more suited to the dedicated home cinema than the living room!! Once the changes are in place and the system installed and bedded in then the calibrator will return to setup the system.
