The Lumagen VisionHDP is a mid to high-level solution adjusted to the needs of professional homecinema systems in its performance range and offers more advanced video processing than the VisionDVI. The Lumagen VisionHDP shares the same connections as the Lumagen VisionDVI but includes more advanced processing techniques, the ability to deinterlace 1080i at up to 1080p output and the ability to take analogue and/or digital RGB inputs and transcode those to analogue component output.

With the VisionHDP and VisionProHDP, Lumagen undertake continuous improvements to the scaling and deinterlacing abilities of these processors which can easily by updated at home or brought into us for an update. By manufacturing the VisionHDP with currently dormant circuit board hardware for future deinterlacing software upgrades, Lumagen have ensured that the product will enjoy a very long lease of life and will always be top performer in its class.

Update: in a surprise firmware update Lumagen have been able to include a full 1080i per-pixel deinterlacing algorithm into the Lumagen VisionDVI! This raises the performance bar quite significantly as no other processor even close to this price offers this kind of HDTV performance. The HD range (Vision HDP, Vision HDQ, VisionProHDP) gain this and 1080i film mode detection for perfect translation back to 1080p!
