The AVR300 represents another landmark project by Arcam in its quest to deliver products that provide discerning customers with home cinema solutions, which don't involve the compromises seen in many other products.
Drawing on Arcam's expertise in audio and video processing, the AVR300 brings many of the lessons learnt in developing the world-renowned FMJ AV8 and P7 combination in a package competitively priced.
The specification and feature list offered is comparable to anything offered by the competition. However, the distinguishing point, as you would expect from Arcam, is the extra care and attention to detail in the circuit design that preserves the integrity of the smallest details in audio and video signals.
The AVR300 is a completely new platform developed from the ground up by our design team. Many of the engineering techniques came from a fusion of professional audio and video expertise with the passion Arcam has always had for reproduction that is completely true to life.
Custom-Install Friendly
We have devised the AVR300 to provide total flexibility for the professional installation market, as well as an interface that is simple and intuitive for all the family to use and enjoy.
We know that many people are happy to use their home cinema and music system in five-channel mode, and so it is possible to use the two extra amplifier channels to either bi-wire the main left and right loudspeakers for even better results. Alternatively, you can use those channels to drive a remote pair of loudspeakers in another room.
The volume control for this zone is independent of the main room. The AVR300 also allows for a second video signal to be routed to a second zone.
The AVR300 comes with a backlit remote control that can, in addition, control up to eight different devices in a system. It also comes equipped with an RS232 point to connect to other control systems such as wall panels or touch sensitive panels, which are commonly used in whole-house automation projects.

The AVR300 is a digital audio device which has been designed to very high standards of electromagnetic compatibility. The unit can radiate radio frequence (RF) energy. In some cases, this can cause interference with FM and AM radio reception. If this is the case, keep the AVR300 player and its connecting cables as far from the tuner and its aerials as possible. Connecting the AVR300 and the tuner to different mains sockets can also help to reduce interference.
