The culmination of over thirty years of design expertise in the highly specialised field of multi-channel audio, the RV-5 receiver provides a rarefied level of performance for AV connoisseurs. It features the latest version of Lexicon's critically acclaimed Logic 7® decoding, praised globally for its ability to greatly enhance the listening experience of any type of source material: music, film, TV, or even video games. Using Logic7 gives you improved imaging and greater fidelity for a more compelling 3-D like reproduction of music and movies.
RV-5 set up is easy. It features an automated speaker set-up, which also performs system equalization. Unlike most equalization systems, the RV-5's intelligent processing algorithms compensate for speaker performance aberrations, balancing the entire system for the best overall results. For added convenience, the RV-5 can calibrate and store according to three different listening positions.
The RV-5 is the first Lexicon product to feature integrated Faroudja® video processing technology, which takes any incoming video format and up-converts it so that a single HDMI cable can be used between the RV-5 and the video display. The RV-5 can also scale the video to 720p or 1080i output resolution for improved video performance from standard definition sources. In addition, it has two menu pages per input devoted entirely to user-adjustable video processing features including routine brightness, sharpness and contrast, as well as more advanced options such as Faroudja's DCDi® , designed to smooth out the jagged edges caused when video is de-interlaced; film mode detection, which automatically identifies film sources and restores the proper frame sequence; and noise reduction designed to minimize video noise in analogue signals.
The RV-5 features an integrated 7-channel power amplifier designed with a robust toroidal power transformer and thermal/DC protection to ensure exceptional performance and long term reliability. With its multi-zone capabilities, amplifier re-routing and optional RF remote base, the RV-5 can also operate as a self-contained two zone system controller.
Bi-directional RS-232 control, an IR input and discrete power and control commands ensure flawless integration with any RS-232 or IR based control system.
The RV-5's USB port allows PC based music to be accessed and controlled, and through its optional iPod dock you can enjoy all your iPod content, controlled from the RV-5's front panel, remote control or RS-232 port and monitored via the on-screen display.
