Parasound has established and enviable reputation for designing some of the finest amplifiers available. As part of the New Classic series, the 5250 will only further this reputation.
The Model 5250 is a high current cool-running five-channel power amplifier, delivering an immense 250W into an 8 ohm load and over 380 watts into a 4 ohm load.
THX Ultra 2 certified and Class A/B in design, the amplifier is built for efficient, low heat operation. It features discrete circuitry with two toroidal transformers, and is capable of delivering a peak current of 45 amps per channel. The Model 5250 includes DC Servo and relay protection circuits, with front panel indicators for temperature, standby, and individual channel status.
For integration with processing and control equipment, the amplifier features both a DC trigger input with loop output and adjustable audio signal sensing for automated power switching. A ground-lift switch is included on the rear panel, as are gold-plated RCA inputs, and heavy-duty 24K gold-plated five-way speaker terminals for each channel.
The Model 5250 can be rack mounted and occupies four rack spaces when mounted with the optional RMK44 rack-mount kit.
The amplifier design of the 5250 is identical to that of the two-channel 2250, enabling perfect matching within a 7.1-channel Home Theatre system.
