The Halo C1 controller is the embodiment of Parasound's product philosophy. Offering an exclusive 7.5 channel design, THX Ultra 2 Certification and a fully automated calibration system, the C1 will answer all of the questions asked of a home theatre controller.
At the heart of the C1 is an exceptional Motorola 24 bit processor, capable of extracting multi-channel data streams with incredible accuracy. A custom designed DSP engine by Flextronics Design of Finland handles all bass management and time alignment duties. Individual digital channels are then fed through AKM ultra-low jitter 24bit/96kHz D/A converters. All current multi-channel formats a catered for including Dolby®Digital, dts, dts - ES, Neo-6 and the latest Prologic IIX.
Aware of the potential lip sync issues in today's high resolution video formats, Parasound now includes five independent A/V sync delay presets, each assignable to an input to ensure a seamless video and audio performance.
Analogue routing is given equal priority, all circuitry being of the highest quality and operating completely independently of all digital circuitry. Fully balanced inputs and outputs enable the C1 to perform as an exceptional analogue pre-amplifier.
The C1 controller is equipped with the highly regarded and fully PC programmable MX700 remote control, capable of controlling every item within your home theatre system. The C1 also includes a smaller Side Kick' remote control, which is perfect for controlling a second zone.
Another design element that distinguishes the C1 is its front panel TFT display. This permits the viewing of any internally switched source or the controller's own on-screen menu. For DVD-A and SACD sources the TFT really comes into its own. Many of these discs are menu navigated and yet are audio-only formats. Through the C1's TFT display, full access can be given to a disc's contents without the need for an external monitor.
The C1 provides significant expansion opportunities. Eight channels are provided as standard with four additional programmable outputs being available either for system specific use, such as a height channel, or the accommodation of future formats. The internal open architecture and software upgradeable processors provide significant long-term peace of mind.
