The Installation ProcessWith a plan in hand, the project is then divided into a series of "fixes". The more simple jobs may contain all fixes in a single day or two, however the more complex may require a single fix to span weeks to allow other contractors (e.g joiners, plasterers, electricians etc) to work around us. The First FixFirst fix is generally regarding as the cabling fix. A detailed schedule is created and our technicians will visit the site and lay the appropriate infrastructure. This might involve chasing out walls in a retro-fit project, or laying cables into a shell to be plastered over at a later time. Wall plates and light fitments are not always fitted immediately (perhaps a break for dry lining to take place) but the termination of all cabling is also covered within the first fix session(s). The Second FixThis is the installation of component parts and bracketry. In-wall/ceiling speakers are installed at this time (fishing out cable laid in fix one), projector mounts and screens are installed, if appropriate plasma screens are hung and cabling terminated. Keypads, light sensors and fittings for multi-room AV and/or lighting systems are all installed here. The Final Fit and Programming StageOnce the tidy-up has finished it's time to unbox the final components of the system, unwrap the plasma screen, and install the devices into your furniture. This stage includes calibration of any systems, programming of remote controls or more comprehensive control systems, programming of heating and lighting etc.
The programming stage is often an ongoing effort in more complex systems. We take into account as much as we can from the initial consultation stage, however sometimes we just don't know how you will want to use the system until it is already in place. We are happy to revisit at no extra charge should you decide perhaps you would prefer a different remote control button layout, or that the lighting "moods" are not quite as moody as you had hoped! Commisioning / HandoverWith the installation complete we like to take time to walk you through what we have done. Where any maintenance might be an ongoing consideration, and some tutoring on use of any control, lighting, or multi-room system. Our labour is covered by a one-year parts and labour warranty in addition to any manufacturer gaurantee on the products themselves. |
