A Plasma or LCD based flat panel screen can offer a world of advantages over the classic big-box CRT televisions or rear projection televisions. A Plasma screen or Plasma TV (as well as LCD screens and LCD TVs) will offer a far larger picture, from a much smaller unit. Hang it on the wall and that's it!
With the nature of the technology, the picture will always be in Progressive Scan format, it will be HDTV compatible, and will also be capable of showing computer images, digital camera photos etc.
By being a totally flat panel, the picture will not suffer from the kind geometric problems suffered by CRT televisions, nor will it suffer convergence issues since there are no electron guns to “converge”. Not to mention the huge range of colour available today (many now 1.07 BILLION colours!), massive contrast ratios (many 4000:1!), and of course stylish looks…
