The ultimate domestic speaker package, and an ideal match to our reference Bryston cinema systems. The PMC EB1i floorstanding speakers are a direct relative to the IB1 studio reference speaker and provide a phenomenal response right down to 19Hz via PMC's unique carbon fibre and Nomex 10" driver strapped at the front of a massive ATL (advanced transmission line) tunnel. The partnering centre channel speaker (CB6i) is an acoustic match and again uses ATL technology to achieve impressive dynamics. The final piece of the puzzle is the TLE1 subwoofer consisting of twin 6.5" drivers and an ultra low distortion 150w Bryston sourced power amplifier and is able to deliver a flat frequency response right down to 22Hz.

The whole system is hand-made by PMC in England and makes for a 5.1 arrangement that will easily rival the best Hollywood studios. These speakers are beasts in every sense of the word and will suck up every bit of power you can throw at them...

Slightly less dramatic than the EB1i system is the ob1i based 5.1 setup which employs PMC's first 3-way design in the OB1i speakers. Again partnered with the CB6i centre channel speaker and TLE1 subwoofer. The OB1i speakers, as with all in the PMC range, utilise ATL technology with a 6.5" driver sitting at the top of the tunnel. Frequency response is down to an incredibly low 24Hz, but with an interesting 3-way design using a hand-built 24dB crossover to improve resolution right the way down the scale.

An ideal partner to a Bryston or Arcam reference setup, this is another system that does not want to be left short of power.... The OB1i wants plenty of room to breath and is ideally suited to medium or larger, open plan rooms.

The FB1i and TB2i speakers are a very close relation utilising similar 6.5" main drivers SONOFLEX tweeter, and ATL system to great effect. The floorstanding FB1i front speakers allow for an extended ATL over the standmount TB2i and give the system an authoritative sound in medium ro large listening rooms. The partnering TB2M-Ci centre channel speaker, essentially a TB2i on it's side, completes the main channel speaker line-up of again all British hand-built, acoustically matched, audiophile speakers.

A more slender setup than the above systems, the PMC GB1i and DB1i speakers utilise a 5.5" main driver rather than the 6.5" or 10" versions and as such can afford a narrower profile and so are less imposing in the room. Don't let the size of the drive unit fool you though, with 4-section extended ATL (Advanced Transmission Line) the GB1i still extends right down to 29Hz response without a struggle! The acoustically matched DB1i and DB1M-Ci centre speaker utilise the same drive units in smaller ATL cabinets for a perfect tonally matched 5.1 system with the accompanying TLE1 subwoofer.

Suited to smaller to medium rooms, perhaps where close-to-wall positioning is unavoidable, these speakers are an ideal partner to the Arcam AVR350 (bi-amp mode) as a minimum but as with all PMC speakers are much happier when sucking up the extra power from a pre-pro system such as Arcam fmj, Lexicon, Bryston.

Our favorite 5.1 speaker system from PMC, not for outperforming anything else, but simply for being an outstanding audiophile package with hugely impressive hemispherical imaging which is thrown at you from five quite small and unimposing monitor speakers! Perfectly suited to music and movie systems, and at risk of repeating the same point shares exactly the same SONOFLEX tweeter technology and hand-made build quality as can be found right up through the PMC range!

The Wafer 1 and Wafer 2 speakers are a little piece of genius from PMC. Take their excellent ATL technology and SONOFLEX tweeter and wrap it into an ultra-slim cabinet with a few tricks of it's own to help installation. TT technology is as simple as it sounds - twin-tweeters are installed in the speaker which can be activated depending on horizontal or vertical installation for perfect response whichever way they go. Wafer control adds basic tonal control to adjust for differing environments.

Both speakers are available as standard Wafer 1 or Wafer 2 models, and also as in-wall or in-ceiling models Wafer 1-IW and Wafer 2-IW which can be integrated with the regular cabinet speakers above where rear channels require a more discrete installation.
