Sharp XV-Z12000 Features In depth:
1. High Contrast Ratio of 5500:1 from a newly designed F8 Optical Engine
The XV-Z12000 employs cutting edge technology such as a cats eye lens shutter which eliminates unwanted light. In addition, the high-contrast optical engine co-developed with "Minolta Corporation" reduces the exposure down to F8, which helps produce darker blacks than ever achieved by conventional projectors. Also, the four anomalous dispersion glass pieces that make up the projection lenses provide high-performance image formation.
2. DMD HD2+ Mustang Chip from Texas Instruments
The XV-Z12000 uses the latest DMD HD2+ chip for dramatically improved effective light efficiency, providing outstanding performance with beautiful and precise reproduction of high-resolution 1280 x 720 pixel HDTV images. |

3. Natural Colour Reproduction that does Exceptionally well with Reds
The high-power 270w lamp produces intense light that drives the colour wheel and helps reproduce colours as they were originally intended to look. Pulse Weight Technology assists in reproducing reds more efficiently by increasing power to the lamp as it passes through the red segments of the colour wheel. Even for red elements the XV-Z12000 can maintain light quantity, which tends to be lacking when using a high-pressure mercury lamp. The result is high-purity primary colours while maintaining the ideally balanced light quantity, bringing vivid but natural colour reproduction. |

4. Dynamic Range of Rish Colours - ND Colour Wheel
In addition to six RGB filters, the seven-segment five-time speed ND colour wheel also uses a filter specifically for green. Inherently green is a colour of less brightness and our eyes are more sensitive to green than any other colour. Displaying green in a 10-bit resolution dramatically improves detail in dark images. |

5. Sharp's unique High Image Quality System to Optimize Robust Optical Performance
The XV-Z12000 is equipped with Sharp's proprietary multi-functional digital image processing LSI. This LSI incorporates various image processing algorithms for generating high-quality images on DLP, liquid crystal, plasma and other stationary pixel display devices out of a wide range of video sources. With strong emphasis by Sharp on optimisation during development, resulting in this unique combination of LSI and DLP technology, the XV-Z12000 achieves the high-quality natural and detailed expression of movie film ambience.
