Home automation can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Our distributed multi-room audio and video systems tend to come under the blanket "home automation". As do our intelligent lighting solutions, especially in the case where lighting can be remotely controlled (by hand remote, or from another room, or even over the Internet!). In our minds though, home automation is the bringing together of these technologies to create one single entity. We take the various requirements of an audio in every room scenario, intelligent lighting systems, our CCTV options, our home networks and the like, and we bring this together into a single intelligent centralised network.

A single wall panel in each room can give the user the ability to play a song, dim the lights, see what the kids are doing via the CCTV application, close the blinds, open the windows, even intercom over to another room! We take the complication out of the equation and just leave you with a nice user-friendly graphical interface. Where required/requested we can fit the more traditional looking push button light control and music control pads instead, but behind the scenes still have centralised, networked control.

The advantages aren't just that you have easy access to your audio and video systems and lighting in every room. The more intelligent systems will automate your lighting and requirements to both be energy efficient, but also for security simulate people being at home when they are not. Heating and ventilation can be integrated and not just controlled by the user, but by the scenario e.g. watching a movie in the cinema room may encourage the ventilation to use slow fan modes so as not to intefere with the sound, meanwhile the system is busy lowering the projection screen, lowering the blinds and switching to mood lighting in readyness for you to put a movie on!
